Our story
When founders and long-time friends Esteban, Martin, and Diego, all discovered that the skills they learned in their undergrads were not translating to the workforce, this sparked an interest in finding a solution. Each friend explored ways to solve the skills gap, working with higher education to get jobs for first-year students, and even developing apps to help students' education and beyond.
The foundation for 1Mentor was born when hands-on efforts to bridge the skills gap 1-on-1 grew a work placement program by 500%. We asked ourselves: what could be achieved with personalized upskilling recommendations at a much larger scale? We decided to solve this problem through innovation and technology to facilitate partnerships within industry and academia, so they can grow together, in sync. All of our experiences with the familiar skills gap keeps us motivated to make 1Mentor the best possible solution for students.
